Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Safety Officer with strong experience in Infrastructure Projects and Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) Projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing HSE procedures, monitoring site safety compliance, conducting inspections, identifying risks, and ensuring that all project activities are carried out in line with approved safety standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor project HSE policies, procedures, and safety plans.
  • Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts or unsafe conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with project safety requirements, client standards, and local regulations.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness sessions for site teams.
  • Monitor high-risk activities including excavation, confined space works, lifting operations, chemical handling, and STP-related activities.
  • Prepare risk assessments, method statement reviews, and permit-to-work coordination.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions and prepare required reports.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and workers to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintain HSE records, inspection reports, training records, and incident documentation.
  • Support emergency preparedness, safety audits, and corrective action follow-ups.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of HSE experience in infrastructure and/or STP projects.
  • Previous experience in Sewage Treatment Plant projects is preferred.
  • UAE project experience will be an advantage.
  • NEBOSH / IOSH or equivalent HSE certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of site safety procedures, risk assessments, method statements, and permit-to-work systems.
  • Experience in excavation safety, confined space safety, lifting safety, chemical safety, and plant/equipment safety.
  • Good communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to coordinate with site teams and ensure safety compliance under project pressure.
